Toolscase SwitchDoc ("we," "us," or "our") is a browser add-on converter tool built to help you convert Word, PDF, Excel, and PowerPoint documents instantly. This Privacy Policy explains what information we process and our high standard of data security when you use our extension.
Data We Process and Collect
To perform document conversions, SwitchDoc processes these data items:
Document Files
When you upload documents for conversion (such as Word, PDF, Excel, and PowerPoint files), the files are transmitted securely to our conversion service. This transmission is encrypted and ephemeral: files are processed and immediately deleted upon completion. We do not store your files permanently.
Local Settings & History
Conversion settings, choices, and recent history items are saved locally within your browser extension storage. No third party or server-side logs keep track of your local metadata.
Privacy Integrity Promise
We never store, sell, or inspect your documents. File uploads are processed ephemerally solely for rendering the requested conversion format and are purged immediately.
Extension Permissions Usage
The SwitchDoc extension requests the following permissions to support document tasks:
activeTab
Allows SwitchDoc to trigger document operations and file downloading directly from the tab context you initiate.
scripting
Required to inject and run helper scripts inside the tab context for processing document conversions.
host_permissions (<all_urls>)
Required to let the extension communicate with our secure conversion APIs from any tab you choose to convert files on.
